So you calmly sat and spoke about your death,
Six months they said
You laughed and said you know you are going to die
We agreed to walk together
We agreed I would be there
We agreed and bowed our head and prayed…
We asked for forgiveness and peace
We declared she would be well
We said that everyone would be supported
HOWEVER…
I hope I can keep my end of the bargain
I pray I can stand strong and be who this person seeks me to be
She is so alone, walked through so much where is our humanity?
Have we become so disconnected from each other that the basic human kindness can no longer be administered to each other?
Today…could we build a bridge of kindness?
One hand to one other person’s hand would build that bridge
Lets try and stop the broken prayers and promises today.
