Hi, how are YOU? So many things in this current age to speak about, but most of all the dreaded silent enemy called Covid-19. Much is said about it every day and the constant bombardment of the name leaves us as exhausted, as if we had been dashed on the rocks of hopelessness.
Please don’t misunderstand me, you are amazing with all you have done and how you have coped, but still I want you to unpeel your heart like an onion, and tell me how you REALLY are. I have spoken to teenagers who are battling to get out of bed, older folk who have lived through world wars and are bewildered at this silent enemy who creeps up on a person without a “please may I”.
Normally we can fight enemies we can see, we can plan – as we are now trying to do. However when you tilt at windmills like Don Quixote (that’s what the virus feels like), invisible jabbing at this unseen enemy that I cant quite touch.
We, you, I – have achieved so much, family time, singing on YouTube, baking, cooking, writing letters making jam. You are incredible. You rise like the Phoenix from the ashes.
I salute you and encourage you to journal, write an account of this journey and find many drops of happiness every day. We all look for the big happy – I’m yet to find it, I believe the big happy is made up of millions of little drops.
Take good care of yourself.
Love,
Sharmaine
