The New Normal?

I am sure so many of you have needed to go and buy a loaf of bread, some milk or a few groceries.  You keep social distancing in line and look around and suddenly everything seems so surreal.  There are old and young covering up some with strange masks and a variety of gloves.

How well and how patient my queue was – until I got inside the store and  a woman was so aggressive!

She tries to push the man who was attempting to pack the shelves out of the way.  She had a wild look in her eyes akin to fear.  I honestly wanted to ask her to breathe, but she was whipping around the shop so quickly there was no way that anyone could speak with her.

How this made me think of Jesus saying in John 14:27,
‘Peace I leave with you; My peace I give you.  I do not give to you as the world gives.  Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.’

God loves you.  He cares about everything you are going through, every heartache, every troubled thought.  He is your peace that passes all understanding.

So for today embrace the new normal:  what stories of victory we will tell our children and grandchildren.

See you in the socially distanced queue!
